Andrea Abbate

Andrea has over seven years of experience in fundraising, executive search and non-profit arts administration and management in the UK and US.

Prior to joining Richmond Associates in 2007, Andrea was an Associate Director at the Metropolitan Opera in New York City where she managed a $19 million Patron Programme. In this role she was responsible for the acquisition and renewal of over 4,000 high level annual donors to the Met, as well as overseeing a wide variety of events, promotions and third party partnerships to increase engagement. She also focused specifically on cultivating the next generation of opera supporters, managing a bespoke membership programme for patrons under the age of 40.

Andrea began her career in the executive office at Actors’ Equity, the national trade union for professional Broadway actors and stage managers. There she managed contract negotiations, inter-union partnerships and strategic member benefits administration.

At Richmond Associates, Andrea is responsible for business development, candidate relationship marketing and assignment delivery as well as managing the Consulting team. Clients that Andrea has worked with include Tate, UNICEF UK, University of Cambridge, University of Oxford, London Business School and the Royal Shakespeare Company.

Andrea graduated magna cum laude from New York University with a Bachelors Degree in Performing Arts and Humanities, where she also worked extensively in the casting and theatre industry.
