Patricia Castanha - Associate Consultant
Patricia has worked in fundraising for nearly two decades, primarily with national cultural organisations.
As an Associate Consultant for Richmond Associates, patricia has worked with a wide range of clients including London Business School, the School or Oriental and African Studies, The Art Fund, Westminster School and Southbank Centre.
At the start of her career she was on the development staff of English National Opera, then Campaign Director for a capital project with the Aldeburgh Festival and later Director of Development and Marketing at the London Philharmonic Orchestra.
In 2002 she began consulting and has undertaken projects for English National Ballet School, the Tate Gallery, Somerset House Trust and the Royal Academy of Arts, among others. Work has encompassed both capital and revenue fundraising strategy and activity.
From June 2005 until October 2009 she directed the campaign for the Renewal of St Martin-in-the-Fields, a £36 million capital restoration and construction project, now virtually complete, with over £35.9 million secured from public and private sources in the UK, the USA and Hong Kong.
She is currently leading a campaign for the Britten-Pears Foundation, based at Benjamin Britten’s and Peter Pears’ home, The Red House, in Suffolk, for a variety of local, national and international initiatives to celebrate Britten’s centenary in 2013.
She is a member of the Royal National Theatre’s Trusts & Foundations Working Group and a Trustee of the BBC Radio 4 Christmas Appeal.
